A Christmas in Zap

On Christmas Eve, Zapcity entz organized a party. I am really glad that the pictures were released almost immediately, but even if it was released later,  unlike the DON'T DULL party, it would have been totally worth it, because the pictures were quite good, not the magazine top notch quality yet, but still excelentay (I couldn't find e with an accent on my keyboard.)
It took me time, but eventually I got to the pictures.

So I'm going to start with the best, and then pick random pictures just like that.

Granted, the camera quality was not so great, but don't you just love the expression, like the girl in red is letting the other girl in on a dirty little secret that goes something like THIS, really evil, sensual and seductive. Somebody better call the police. And did you notice the colour widening of the eyes, the multicoloured fingernails with matching bangles.
NB: CLICK THE RED CAPITALIZED WORDS.

Initially when I saw this picture, my first thought was that it is really not possible for five people in a picture to all look good, then of course I did a little research and discovered something that I'd like to call the cheerleader effect. What's the cheerleader effect, you ask? The cheerleader effect is when a group of women, in this case men seem very hot but only as a group, but take all of them apart, and they don't seem as hot any more. That being said, the picture is 'kay, starting with the guy on the extreme left, to the next guy and so on.

And for the first time, someone made goofiness plus gangsterism look cool. Didn't really like those black straps as they were exposed like that though.

The dangers of rocking the same outfit cannot be overemphasized. Someone always looks better, it doesn't matter if both of you look good in it  (and they kind of do)once it looks better on the other person, it cancels out the other person rocking the outfit entirely. Seriously, now if I have to pick, the girl on the left definitely rocked it better.

Perfect shot, if this was a wedding, and he was making a toast to the bride and groom, meanwhile regretting deep down that he slept with the bride just a few days back.

Hmm, really cool picture. Remember when I lectured you guys on the cheerleader effect, well get out your pens and start taking notes for this picture here, is a clear example of the reverse cheer leader effect. Now I'm not going to say anything further, I implore you readers to use your head and figure what I mean. If you still can't, then click HERE for my lecture. It's not exactly in that context, but you get the point.

Hmm, if I didn't know better I would have said this was someone else. Anyway, I like the expression that Tomiwa sorry, this guy had on his face, but the hand and the holding of the phone looked really awkward.

At times big is sexy, so I don't see any reason why the guy had to suck in, made him look uncomfortable. Love the colours, the blue complements the white and the black in the middle balances errything out. A good example of Simple and good.

Quality-wise this picture was in need of major de-speckling, this is what Rick Ross could have looked like. Would have loved to see a Cuban cigar though.

I love the casual look of the picture, the white girls really look cute, and the guy with the red watch and matching top looks like someone's pimp. And the guy with the wine bottle, not bad either.

Is this a mistake or was it a planned pose. If it was a mistake, it's a good mistake, if it was planned, good pose, I like, but I'm not a big fan of the cap though.

Can I get his number, anyone have it?

The Eve Party in a one picture.................

All in all I'm sure the party was great, however procuring these pictures wasn't an easy thing to do, but it is done, hope you guys are having a nice year already. To the organizers, more grease to your elbows....

I'M DONE!!!!

Aurora features Gucci boy Prince

Where are you from and what’s your real name.
The name’s Samuel Ifeoluwa Ayomide Oluwole (Jr), I’m from Nigeria, Osun state.

Where are you based?
Based in Kiev, at least at the moment.cos who knows I’ll be outta here soon

How did you come up with the name Gucci Prince, care to tell us why you chose the name?
It was given to me by friends, and on my birthday, I was presented officially with a Gucci cake

How would you describe your music or form of entertainment for the public audience if they have never seen you before?
Basically it could be described as RnB, although I do everything else, including hip-hop, jazz, blues, reggae, high-life, calypso and a lot more

Thinking way back to early childhood, what was your first experience with music like? What song do you remember most as a child?
As a child I mostly sang in church in the choir and played the piano. The song I always sang then was (Jesus the lover of my soul)

We are all Aware of how the music industry has exploded in Nigeria, and how music has matured or has changed over the past few years. How does the music you listen to now, differ from way back then?
Everything changed, the way of thinking and the choice of people. Music directing has taken a whole new level in Nigeria. Nowadays you can hardly tell the difference between a Nigerian music video with a foreign one.

What was the first song you ever sang, and how did it make you feel?
First song I sang was called baby girl, and it felt good listening to myself, and then I’m like, I can do much better

When and where was the first time you performed live? Did it go well?
I have been playing since I was a kid, I’m good with the piano, so I always play in front of thousands of people in church, and it always went well, but professionally,  I did something in 2004, Moscow city, with Timati in B-club, it was not excellent, but ‘twas aight

Are you under any label, or are you an indie artist?
NO, I’m not under any label

You’re also a model right, tell us a bit about your modeling gig?
I was never a model professionally, I just get the attention of many modeling agencies, and they just call me to model for them. If the money is right, I do it, that’s all, so I can’t advice anybody on that.

IF you had to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?
RICH MUSIC, meaning it deals  with a lot of aspects.

How do you come up with the lyrics of your songs, I especially like Sex & Money and It’s My time.
Well, I come up with song, depending on the situation around me.

Who does your beats?
I buy my beats from different sources.

Do you have a fan club, a Face book page, twitter handle or any other means where your fans can reach you?
I’ve got a Face book page, didn’t create a fan club yet, just need to concentrate fully. My producers and managers will be handling that soon.

When you’re not singing or in the studio, what activities do you engage in to pass time?
Hanging out with friends, games, movies, gym, meetings.

Someone once said "Write what you would love to perform over and over" with that in mind which of your songs do you love to perform the most.
Things are not the same again, it’s ma time, can’t stop us, sex and money.

Tell me about your most embarrassing moments if you care to share?
When I got on stage, once and I forgot the lyrics to a song, but most of the time, I handle it nicely.

If you could perform with anyone in the world either dead alive or retired who would it be and why?
Chris Brown, Jay-z, Ross etc honestly, to many people inspire me.

Have you collaborated with any other artists? If so who are they?
With Ukrainian and Russian artists, but not internationally known, but I'm in contact with international stars, just like I said, I haven’t taken my music game so seriously, cos of my studies.

What advice would you like to give other upcoming artists, those who want to go into modelling?
Let looking nice be a habit, that’s all.

Can you give a shout out to your fans and friends out there in form of a rhyme or lyrics like a song?
Wanna shout out to everybody making money, wanna shout out to ma fans, who always stood there for me, when I was happy and sad, (they mostly could tell by my status) shout out to you, interviewing me right now, it’s a pleasure. Shout out to my mum and dad, cos without them I won't be here right now, they are my foundation, and of course God for keeping me safe. Thanks for having me here. Bless, it’s your boy Sam a.k.a Gucci-Boss

Aurora features Hymi

My readers, ladies, and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming self-aclaimed chosen King, Shurlarr Hymi.

Before we start, I would like to just say that this shot is amazing, and I can't seem to understand how I missed it in the party picture reviews. Where are you from?

I'm from Akoko LGA, Edo state, Nigeria. I live in Kharkov; I study avionics in national aerospace university Kharkov

How did you come up with the name Hymi, care to tell us what it means?

Hymi was given to me by my girlfriend. She made it from my middle name Ahinmiole (pronounced as hymiole)

How would you describe your music or form of entertainment for the public audience if they have never seen you before?

Well I think my kind of music is afro beat but I always try to blend my personality into it. On my stage performances, I draw inspiration from my role model D’banj. I do GOOD music and I hope I rep GOOD music someday.

Thinking way back to early childhood, what was your first experience with music like? What song do you remember most as a child?

I really love music, music is like my life. I started humming and making notes when I was as little as six years old. When I was younger I enjoyed singing ABBA's Money Money Money; you know pupsy things now, you dare not play any other song, lol.

We are all Aware of how the music industry has exploded in Nigeria, and how music has matured or has changed over the past few years. How does the music you listen to now, differ from way back then?

Well I think music nowadays really doesn’t pass any message. We are just all about the rhythm and groove. The only significant difference is the improved sound quality. Our music has not matured it has only taken a different turn. The only real musician I see is ASA, never seen anyone more creative.

What was the first song you ever sang, what was the experience like?

The first song I recorded was "Dance" in a local studio. I broke the CD after the production because I wasn’t pleased with it. It’s still my best write up though but it’s yet to be released.

We are our own greatest critiques, I would love to hear it though. When and where was the first time you performed live? Did it go well?

My first performance was at my aunt's birthday four years ago. It was wonderful. I think I actually wowed the audience. Then again, maybe it’s because they all knew me, and were just trying to be nice. Another great performance I had was in zap two years ago. I loved it, I love them too, Zap city (I see you) much respect to Santos!

This music, is it something you're taking seriously, or is it just an on-the-side thing?

Well, for now it’s an on-the-side thing as you put it. I have some other things I’m into, like school and other stuff, and it’s not easy sharing my time for them all. But it’s mostly because I’m disconnected from my source of inspiration; my guys in Lughansk inspire me a lot. I also feel more in the game when I’m within the shores of Naija, any minute I touch down Nigeria or Lughansk things won’t stop popping.

IF you had to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?

Entertaining, groovy, humorous and rhythmic

How do you come up with the lyrics of your songs, I especially like Get Down and Turn me on?

I write lyrics from anything that comes to mind, but at times I try hard not to go too raw. Things around me, from articles, quotes, proverbs, almost anything can inspire me; I take them all together and create a funny scene.  If any of these are absent then it’s an emotional song.

Who does your beats?

WAZZ beat (Nigeria), DAjay (superproduca) Fejadave, Lammie, Jae syxx, Oleg (hit factory) and charmlex

Do you have any fan comments of how your song has affected or changed them.

Yeah "African dream" although I was featured on the track.they love it.

Do you have a fan club, a Face book page, twitter handle or any other means where your fans can reach you?

I have a fan page on face book, "SInG wIt HyMi", (excuse me) see as I hold mic for that picture since my voice don crack nobody gree follow me sing. Lol, and my twitter handle is "iTshymoi"

Someone once said "Write what you would love to perform over and over" with that in mind which of your songs do you love to perform the most.

African dream, it’s not mine but I love that track. I like performing African dream because of the memories behind it, and whenever I listen to the demo version the chorus, it always makes me proud of myself.

Tell me about your most embarrassing moments if you care to share?

An embarrassing moment, hmmm! Well, while in Nigeria I was on a phone date with this girl I had never met before. She sounded so cool and angelic and she was always talking about her beauty, class and all. I felt like she was a good catch until we met in person after a couple of months and I felt like hanging myself. If she hadn’t made so much fuss on how beautiful and classy she was, I could understand but the girl looked nothing like she sounded. I didn’t say a word to her anyway.

If you could perform with anyone in the world either dead alive or retired who would it be and why?

The international Act I would like to perform with is Enrique Iglesias. He is my best international musician, I love all his songs and he really inspires me. I wish I had his voice. Another person is D’banj; I love him so much, yeah so MUCH!!!

Have you collaborated with any other artists? If so who are they?

I have had "collabos" with wonderful and talented people around Ukraine, Preachazson and Fejadave, Int, Beesmoke, Charmlex and VCG. Still looking out to get some more

What advice would you like to give other upcoming artists?

Our fame is coming like a dream bros. Pick the sense from the nonsense you are told, that bright star is in you don’t let it be dulled or dented by what people say, if you believe in your ability, be in pursuit of your dream relentlessly. Let’s be united. Music in its real sense is Harmonious, if we are real musicians we should rep what we do, peace! God bless us all.

One more thing, Can u give a shout out to Aurora Dandridge, your friends and family?

I say wassup to my friends and my foes.
Reality is my pager dats how my life goes.
I rep for Kingsbridge and I’m chilling with Dandridge.
To entertain is what I do, ne'er slipping off that bridge.
Holla this is shurlarr, my tunes are pasted on my collar.
I’ll make u move to the groove, oh yeah!
There can be no other, High me! Oh me?
I always like it low-key, bend!
Squeeze up ya face and wiggle it like showkey.
